Why?

The pointlessness of it all is overwhelming. Working toward a goal that may or may not matter at all, you have no idea. Not a glimmer of what truly matters to you at all. Continuing for the sake of continuing, no higher goal remains.

Society deems what it doesn't understand a failure, so we remain in its whirlpool. Failure's we are not, we merely refuse to accept what others tell us as rote. It is necessary for us to formulate our own beliefs, our own ideas of what matters. Yet it is so difficult to do so without being branded a whimsical fool who threw away their potential. Who's to say what potential another human being truly has, only that person can determine that.

Hermits and guru's are not in fashion anymore, now they are thrown to the wind as the refuse of society. Stepping outside of the equation however may allow the end result (or what it should be) to come into focus. Perhaps that's the only way, or maybe buying into what everyone else says is. But haven't we been told not to do that?
